Christmas Caroling at Bloomfield Meadows December 18, 2011

Christmas caroling at Bloomfield Meadows on December 21, 2011 was such fun. Several residents of the building walked through the halls with us singing right along. It was good to see Dorothy and Bob Hodges. Bob came out and sang with us and many of us went into where Dorothy was sitting to say hello.
As we caroled we gave each resident a goody bag that we put
together for them at our December 18th Family and Friends lunch. The bags were quite full with goodies to enjoy during the holiday season.
Thanks to Marilyn Shafer who had her cell phone with her, we have
these pictures to share with you.

 Ordination of Sandra Porrey

October 16, 2010 a Vicinage Council was held for the ordination of Sandy Porrey. The Council give Sandy an oportunity to present her theological ideas to area ministers. Following the council a lunch was served and the Ordination service took place in the afternoon of the same day. We are happy to have been a part of Sandy's ordination. She has served with us for several years and we are proud to have her honored and ordained officially to the Christian ministry. Congratulations Reverend Sandra Porrey!

Joint Service United Methodist and First Congregational February 27, 2011

February 27, 2011 was a cold but sunny day. The First Congregational Church and The United Methodist Church took a break from the winter blues and joined together for a worship service and potluck lunch at a lodge in Farmington, New York. Our guest speaker was Eileen Tiberio, Commissioner of the Department of Soc Service. She spoke to us about how our churches can reach out to people in our neighborhoods. Her choices of scripture and her practical ideas were inspirational to all who heard.

The music was provided by our own Voices of Faith Praise Band with Dale Conway of the UMC accompanying on the keyboard.
