Throughout the year we want to share pictures of our church family at work and at play. We hope you will enjoy seeing what we have been up to lately.

The Church gets down to a little business
Every year in January the church holds the Annual Meeting. Among other business, a revision to the by-laws was reviewed and voted on. Of Course our business always begins with food! Here are some of the smiling faces!

A Visit from Dr. Thomas Richard, Ex. Sec. of National Association of Congregational Christian Churches
Dr. Thomas Richard of the NACCC paid our congregation a visit on July 19, 2009. He preached the message of the day for our joint service with the United Methodist Church and the Episcopal Church. He also brought us good tidings from the National Association as he presented us with our certificate of membership to the NACCC.
A pot luck lunch followed to allow the congregation to meet and greet him.

Redoing the walls in the basement
The congregation put a lot of work into refurbishing Fellowship Hall. Now it is time to turn our attention to our basement area. This area gets a lot of use from the Boy Scouts. It is beginning to show a handsome side to those who pass through!

There were many broken spots in the walls. Bob McConnell did a terrific job patching and repairing.
Donna and Larry stained all the wainscoting.
Bob is the expert at putting it up!

It is beginning to look great. Phyllis and Bev helped Bob with some of the painting.

Remodeling of the basement restroom
The trustees hired a contractor to remodel the two dark and out-of-date restrooms in the basement area. The restroom is now a unisex restroom with all new fixtures and flooring and ceiling. The floor was leveled to make the room handicap accessible.
Here is what the room looks like after the old is stripped away. Notice the inside of the cobblestone foundation of the church!
.jpg)
The finished restroom is light and roomy. A wonderful improvement to the basement area! You have to walk in it to fully appreciate the change.

We look so angelic behaving and paying attention. Well, sometimes we are talking and laughing and telling stories and Beth is so patient with us. We do have a great time together and enjoy singing.

Progressive Dinner June 12, 2010
On June 12th several folks gathered together for a progressiv e dinner. We began the evening at the home of Marilyn Shafer and Mary Gliewe. We enjoyed a warm spinach-artichoke dip and a cold spinach dip. Marilyn's cats were curious and stayed right in the midst of things!

The next stop took us to Bev Clark's home. She treated us to 3 delicious salads, a tossed salad, a blueberry salad and a bean and corn salad.

Now it is time for a little activity after all that great food! Jim led us in a rousing game of Yankee Trade-off. You just don't realize what treasures you can get at the dollar store! But, don't be to happy with your choice--someone is sure to steal it and you may end up with that can of 3 bean salad!
